Sovdepia or Sovdepiya (Russian: Совдепия) was a derogatory name for Soviet Russia and later Soviet Union by those who were against the Bolshevik rule. The word derives from an abbreviation for the Russian term, "Sovet Deputatov" (Совет Депутатов), i.e., "Council of Deputies" (Council of Workers' Deputies, "Council of Workers', Peasants' and Soldiers' Deputies", later Council of People's Deputies), which were the local authority at various levels, see Congress of People's Deputies.

Modern usage may also refer to the authoritarian and bureaucratic style of rule and management characteristic of the Soviet Union.
