Talk:Sources of fantasy

Even split off from history, this page is sadly lacking. It is a list of "mythology of all nations." It does not discuss how these works influenced the modern fantasy genre, and in many cases, it offers no reason to believe that they did.

I will be adding such info and references and ruthlessly deleting anything for which I can find no support for its influence.

We probably should also organize the article not in the chronology that they appeared in history but in the order in which they influenced fantasy. Goldfritha 17:59, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Some of the info included here may be proper to put into history of fantasy, and some from that pages perhaps belongs here, but such matters should be viewed with care. Goldfritha 18:03, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Citations

I've started to provide citations where I can and indicate where they are needed where I can't. Note that merely providing a citation may not be sufficient; assertions have to be not only true but relevant to the genre fantasy. Goldfritha 21:53, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
