[edit] History

Originally, the mall featured a large Hudson's store and Woolworth dime store, as well as a movie theater. JCPenney was added in the 1970s and Mervyn's in the 1980s. In 1993, a food court was added to the south end of the mall. The food court featured ten restaurants, as well as a large, pyramid-shaped glass atrium. In the late 1990s, the theater closed and was soon replaced with Borders. Woolworth closed 1997 with the chain. Hudson's was converted to Marshall Field's in 2001, and then to Macy's in 2006. The food court was renovated in 2006 and has since become a Best Buy, which opened in January 2007. The former occupants of the food court have either moved to other parts of the mall, or closed entirely. Mervyn's closed all Michigan stores in 2006.
