The Southern Leaf-tailed Gecko (Saltuarius Swaini) is a common gecko found in forests north of Sydney. It grows up to 15cm long, though larger specimens have been found. it is a dark brown/greyish colour, finely patterned with black and buff. When stationary it appears to be part of the tree that it rests on when hiding from predators. if this disguise does not work, then it will scatter, or drop it's tail to confuse the predator as all geckos do, it will eventually grow back.
