Southern Illinois Airport (IATA: MDH, ICAO: KMDH, FAA LID: MDH) is a public airport located three miles (5 km) northwest of the central business district (CBD) of Carbondale and east of Murphysboro, in Jackson County, Illinois, USA. The airport opened in 1950 and was originally known as Murdale Airport. It is operated by the Southern Illinois Airport Authority, with members are appointed by Carbondale, Murphysboro and Jackson County.
