Southend West is a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.

Due to the fact that four members of the Guinness family have held the seat (or its predecessor, Southend) it is often dubbed in the media "Guinness-on-Sea".[1]
