South african poisonous tree snails

In order to prevent misunderstanding, it should be noted that South African Poisonous Tree Snails are not an accepted species, and in fact could not even be considered as such. Therefore, please note that the following information cannot, and will not, be cited in any way. Any citation would be misinformation to those seeking reliable information.
[edit] Summary
South African Poisonous Tree Snails are are a fairly common species located in noneother than South Africa, as implied by the name. They live in a variety of habitats, and appear to adapt well to human life. Such Tree Snails thrive in areas occupied by humans, and have become common pests in their native grounds.
Again as implied by the name, South African Tree Snails are poisonous to humans; although, oddly enough, not to most other animals. They induce a strong and long-lasting soporific effect through touch.
Due to the extreme nature of the effects, and the fact that the snails are only recently discovered, not much more information is known about them. Nor, due to the limited scientific attention, does more research appear to be forthcoming.
