South Colonie Central School District

South Colonie Central School District is a school district located within Albany County in east-central New York State. The district has five elementary Schools, two middle schools, one high school, and one remedial middle school. During the 2005-2006 school year, there were approximately 5,686 pupils in the school district. The district offices, as well as the South Colonie Bus Garage, are located off Central Avenue in the Village of Colonie. The district's competitive athletic teams are known as the "Garnet Raiders". Currently, the school district's superintendent is Michael Marcelle.

[edit] Athletics
The middle and high school sports teams are officially known as the "Garnet Raiders". The official colors are garnet and gold. Teams compete in the Blue Division of the Suburban Council or in Division III of Class A. The Garnet Raiders compete in Section II of New York State Public High School Athletics. The athletic director is Dave Foust.
