South Cartersville will be the home to a new subdivision called "Carter Grove Plantation" the largest subdivision within Bartow County, and all of Northwest Georgia, it will hold 3,000 homes and it's own school district by the year 2015, started in 2005.

Erosion of the southend hillside has upset some locals. But numerous shops and stores have "popped" in the last two years.
