[edit] History
This road used to be South Carolina Highway 544 in the late '70s It used to be a cow path for the Collins Creek and Burgess farms. There were only farms on this highway until the 1980s when they created South Carolina Highway 544 from U.S. Highway 17 to Socastee. The road was paved and it is now known as South Carolina Highway 707. Then they built communities, golf courses and neighborhoods. It is now known as one of the worst highways in South Carolina.
