The South American Basketball Championship 1930, the first South American Basketball Championship, was the first major international basketball tournament and the earliest competition recognized by the International Basketball Federation, which would be founded two years later. It was held in Montevideo, Uruguay and won by the host team, Uruguay national basketball team.
