- solving differential equations of addition
- proving a conjecture (proposed by Itsik Mantin and Adi Shamir) related to the number of inputs and outputs of the stream cipher RC4.
Together with Bart Preneel, he designed a stream cipher RC4A which was later broken by Alexander Maximov with distinguishing attacks.
