Sounds Like Canada

Sounds Like Canada is a Canadian radio program, which airs weekday mornings on CBC Radio One. The program is hosted by Shelagh Rogers from Vancouver, and airs programming which covers cultural and human interest stories relevant to Canadians. Jian Ghomeshi and Bill Richardson have also acted as guest hosts.

The show first aired in 2002, when Radio One split its former morning program, This Morning, into two new programs: The Current took over the news and current affairs portion of This Morning's programming, and Sounds Like Canada took over the cultural and human interest areas.

Content on the program may include interviews with artists, musicians, writers, comedians or filmmakers, concert performances, comedy segments, human interest features, and panel discussions on cultural topics such as literature, cuisine, wine or sports.

Sounds Like Canada airs from 10:00 to noon weekday mornings, except on Fridays when it ends at 11:30 and is followed by a short-run comedy or drama series. Afghanada currently airs in the Friday slot; it was preceded by Monsoon House.

On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, one feature from Sounds Like Canada is repeated in the evenings on Nighttime Review.
