[edit] (1996-1999) Early Days

The idea started back in 1996. Mohd Hajjaj met Nasser who has the same musical interests. They decided to form a Grunge band that sounds close to Seattle sound bands and the main theme is about freaks and weird stuff. The band started to compose songs but without a bass and that was a problem. First show ever of Sound of Ruby was in 1998 in a party of the foreign community center in Saudi Arabia and after that year the band started to play in small parties and gigs. As the band was progressing there was always the bass problem.

[edit] (2000-2001) 1st Success

Many bassists joined the band but they didn't last (e.g "Waleed Swaimel") The band showed up in a dead rock scene community. Rock music is not that popular in Saudi Arabia so it were kind of alone. According to these circumstances the band decided to go out of the country to be heard and to have some reviews and opinions about the songs.

[edit] (2002) Rising of Rock Scene

After a sudden rise of rock music scene in Saudi Arabia the band got to know another local band called Wry Wreathe and their drummer was a childhood friend of Mohd Hajjaj and was one of the many bassists who left the band early. The 2 bands were able to make better gigs and jams together because the line ups of the 2 bands were complete.

[edit] (2003) Another Success

In march, 2003 Mohd Hajjaj and Kamal Khalil who was the rhythm guitarist of Wry Wreathe thought of making a bigger gig and they called it Dammam Fest. From that day Mohd Hajjaj and Kamal Khalil became a close friends with Nasser. In the same year Wry Wreathe disbanded so the band asked Kamal Khalil to be a bass player. They understood each other well and started composing more stuff. With Kamal Khalil the band recorded a B-side album called Super Acoustic contained 6 songs recorded by Kamal Khalil and that was an experience before recording any official albums.

[edit] (2004) The Beginning of a Golden Era

The band in was recording a second album Blue Lips. They've played live again in the first public rock show in Saudi Arabia run by SA_Metal crew. After, album was released. In Blue Lips the band experienced different styles from indie to blues. Unlike the first album Super Acoustic that was acoustic grunge stuff.
