Soulima Stravinsky

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Soulima Igorevich Stravinsky (23 September 1910 [os. 10 September] - 28 November 1994) was a Russian-Swiss composer.

He was the son of Igor Stravinsky and the grandson of Fyodor Stravinsky. In addition to his many musical compositions, he wrote books on orchestration and the orchestra. His book on Orchestration contains an excellent section on Brass instruments including many unusual instruments. Like the sons of J S Bach, Soulima Stravinsky was overshadowed by his father.
