Soul Beneficiary is the sixth episode of the SciFi Channel science-fiction series the Dresden Files.
[edit] Plot synopsis
Harry gets a visit from Kelton Franks, who claims to be suffering from premonitions of his own death which prove accurate when he dies in Harry's office. The dead man's wife pays a visit six hours later, Harry doubles up when she dies mysteriously as well. When both bodies go missing, Murphy does some digging to learn that Kelton's prints match two other dead men's files, and both men are identical to Mr. Franks. Harry's investigation leads him to a fourth identical man, Paul Woods, and Bob realizes that someone has been dabbling in the black art of reanimation. When Harry becomes the necromancer's next target, Murphy and Kirmani race to rescue him; and Bob reveals the nature of the crime that got him imprisoned in a skull.
[edit] Trivia
- Detective Kirmani references J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings mythos by mentioning Middle-earth.
- Bob's former love Winefride may be a reference to the saint of Welsh legend, or she may in fact have been that daughter of Tyfid ap Eiludd.
- The episode's antagonist, as well as Bob, are both guilty of breaking the 6th Law of Magic.
