A Manual Dexterity: Soundtrack Volume One, the solo CD from The Mars Volta Guitarist, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, was recorded in 2001 after the breakup of former band At the Drive-In and released in 2004. A Manual Dexterity is the first of a two part soundtrack set to go along to a film directed by Rodriguez-Lopez. Omar's father was also featured on the album doing the vocal tracks on Deus Ex Machina.
A Manual Dexterity: Soundtrack Volume Two, was originally set for release in Spring of 2005 but was pushed back due to The Mars Volta's CD Release Frances The Mute (2005). It has yet to be released. However, on Gold Standard Laboratories website it was announced that they were planning to release both Volume 2 and the film.
