Sorso is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Sassari in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 180 km north of Cagliari and about 8 km north of Sassari. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 14,419 and an area of 67.1 km2.[1]
The municipality of Sorso contains the frazione (subdivision) Marina di Sorso and borders the following municipalities: Castelsardo, Sassari, Sennori, Tergu.
Barisone III of Torres was assassinated at Sorso during a peasant revolt in 1236.
