Sophia L. Minor

Sophia L. Minor, is an American-born international titleholder in beauty pageants. She represented the United States at the 2006 Ethnic World International Pageant in Miami, Florida.

Minor graduated from William Fleming High School and Virginia Commonwealth University. Her first title was Ms. Virginia Achievement 2001.

As Ms. Ethnic World 2006 Sophia was the Honorary Chairperson for the American Diabetes Walk (Richmond, Virginia) in 2006.

Minor, is the founder of the Miss African-American United online pageant.

In 2003 Sophia was the first woman of African-American heritage to compete in the Miss division at the Galaxy International Pageant. Minor, returned the following year as Miss North America 2004 during pageant she won the Career award and the Jafra Sponsor award.

Sophia started her journey to the Ms. Ethnic World title as Miss Virginia 2004. She was a cast member of the 2005 WE (Women's Entertaintment) documentary entitled Chasing the Crown which was Miss America, Kate Schindle. Which covered the importance of diversity in America and the new face of Pageantry. Sophia placed fourth during the televised event and was crowned Ms. United States Ethnic World 2005.

Sophia Minor crowned her successor, Aiisha Fergerson on September 4, 2006 in Phoenix, Arizona and has since become the International Coordinator for the Ethnic World pageant.
