[edit] Imaging

The phone features a built-in 1.3-Megapixel camera, which can take pictures in 3 different resolutions -- large (1280*1024), medium (640*480), and small (160*120). There are various capture modes available through the phone's software -- "panorama" and "burst" modes being the most notable --, which allow for many creative ways of using the camera.

The phone's software also has a digital zoom feature which allows zooming up to 2x for medium (640*480) and 4x for small (160*120) size pictures. The user can also choose between Normal and Fine picture quality settings. The resulting pictures are compressed in JPEG format.

Other minor software functions are:

  • Black and white, Negative, Sepia and Solarize color effects
  • Night mode, in which the image is digitally enhanced for poor lighting conditions
  • Self-timer, which automatically takes a picture after a preset delay

The camera can also be used in conjunction with the phone's microphone to record videos (in 3GP format), at a resolution of either 176*144 or 128*96 pixels. Color effects (as listed above) and Night mode can also be used during video recording.
