The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600 is a digital camera that features 6.0 MP photo resolution, 640 x 480 video quality, 11-meter flash range, and a wide, 31-mm lens. It is highly sensitive, with an ISO factor of 1000.

The design was unveiled by Sony at a convention in Las Vegas, Nevada (CES, Booth #14200) on 4 January 2006, with an estimated retail price of about $200.00. [1]

[edit] Improvements

One of the most notable features with the S600 is the 3x optical wide-angle (31 – 93 mm) zoom thanks to its Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, much wider than most other cameras in its class and price range.

Director of Digital Imaging Products with Sony James Neal noted: "In addition to its impressive six megapixels, it’s a camera with intelligence, helping you to capture every special moment without concern about complex camera settings." [2] Though it has also been criticized for having fewer manual controls. [3]
