Sonny and Carly Corinthos

The couple Sonny and Carly Corinthos are a popular supercouple on the ABC soap opera, General Hospital.
They are the parents of Michael Corinthos III and Morgan Corinthos. Their marriage ended in January of 2005. They have been apart since then, and in that time Carly started seeing Jax. While Jax was out of town married into a platonic marriage to keep Sonny out of prison.

[edit] Their Start
Carly was upset with Jason over his relationship with Elizabeth Webber and slept with his best friend, Sonny Corinthos. Jason left town before Carly even found out she was pregnant. Her marriage to AJ Quartermaine was emotionally abusive and Sonny wanted the mother of his child out of the Q mansion. With help from (an off-screen) Jason, Sonny got AJ to sign over his rights. Carly moved in with Sonny, bringing her son, Michael also.
A couple months later Carly decided to visit Lila, AJ and Jason’s Grandma. AJ showed up and Carly and he argued on the stairs until he grabbed her arm. She yanked back and fell, losing the baby.
[edit] After the miscarriage
After the miscarriage they became closer. And a while later Sonny’s business was attacked by Sorel. Carly trying to help planned to get Sorel busted… only Sonny showed up instead. Carly, the only witness, married Sonny to keep him from prison. Sonny and Carly stayed married yet never said I love you to each other. Until, of course, Sonny was shot. Carly and Sonny remarried in Martinique.
Carly and Sonny started to fall apart and she, one night, walked in on he and his lawyer, Alexis, having sex. She went to see another guy but he threw her out too, when he figured out she didn’t want him. She then drove off a cliff, by accident. She was feared dead and stayed that way till her ‘funeral’.

Carly decided to open a club called THE CELLAR and met a man named Ric Lansing who helped her. After the club’s opening Carly spotted Sonny kissing ex Brenda Barrett. She went to be consoled by her friend Ric. Ric knew Carly’s drink had been drugged and took her to a creepy motel and made her think he’d raped her. Carly found out she was expecting. She got an amnio and told Sonny all.
Ric kidnapped Carly the day of Jason’s wedding and kept her trapped for months planning on killing her and adopting her child. Lorenzo Alcazar took Carly from Ric for his own reasons and they bonded. Eventually she and Sonny reunited.
Sonny decided to leave Carly after Alcazar hired a decoy-Lily, Sonny’s first wife, convinced him he’d kill Carly too. Alcazar befriended Carly and when Carly moved on her own he worried for her. He went to see her only to find her BF on the side of the road. Told Carly was in labor he rushed to her. Alcazar was helping until Sonny arrived, shooting a bullet thru Alcazar into Carly.
Carly was in a coma and during it she dreamed of a different life with Lorenzo. When she woke she was confused and fell for Lorenzo. Sonny decided to kill him. Carly tried to stop it but was to late. Lorenzo had the police arrest Sonny and this is where Carly remembered her love for Sonny.

While Jax was out of town Carly witnessed Sonny shoot Lorenzo Alcazar. To keep Carly from having to testify against Sonny they were married. Carly repeatedly told Sonny that the marriage was a marriage of conveience nothing more.
Then both Sonny and Carly were in the Metro Court when Mr. Craig and his men took over the hotel. There Sonny and Carly began to reconnect and both admitted that they loved each other. When they finally got back to Sonny's after the hostage crisis they made love. Now Jax is back and time will only tell what lies in store for this couple.
