Sonia Roco

Sonia Cubillo Malasarte-Roco (born July 20, 1944) is the widow of the late Senator and former Presidential candidate Raul Roco. She is running for the Senate in the 2007 Philippine Midterm Elections under her late husband's party, Aksyon Demokratiko, which is allied with the broad opposition coalition called Genuine Opposition. She joined the coalition after opposition candidate JV Ejercito pulled out as a candidate at his father's, deposed President Joseph Estrada, behest.[1]
Sonia graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Joseph's College in Quezon City with a degree in Liberal Arts and Bachelor of Science in Education. She also holds a Master's degree in Communication Arts and in Social Psychology from the Ateneo de Manila University.[2]
