Sonia Selvaragavan shot to fame with her role in the 2000 Telugu film named Nee Premaake with Abbas & Vineeth. She has acted in several Telugu and Tamil movies since then.
When in school, she got an offer to act in a serial in Zee TV. Her Tamil movie debut was Kadhal Kondein in 2003. On December 15, 2006 she married Tamil film director and brother of actor Danush, Selvaraghavan in Chennai.
