Songs in the Key of Springfield is a 1997 soundtrack album from The Simpsons compiling many of the musical numbers from the series.
The album was released in the UK in September 1998, where it reached number 18 in the charts. The soundtrack album following this was Go Simpsonic with The Simpsons.
The title could be considered a play on the X-Files soundtrack album Songs in the Key of X, but more than likely, since it is also a musical album, it is a play on Stevie Wonder's landmark album Songs in the Key of Life.
