Sondalo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Sondrio in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 130 km northeast of Milan and about 40 km northeast of Sondrio. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,537 and an area of 96.1 km².^[1]

The municipality of Sondalo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Migiondo, Sommacologna, Somtiolo, Mondadizza, Grailè, Le Prese, Frontale, Fumero, Taronno, and Montefeleito.

Sondalo borders the following municipalities: Grosio, Ponte di Legno, Valdisotto, Valfurva, Vezza d'Oglio.
