Somatotropin receptor

The somatotropin, or growth hormone receptor is a member of the cytokine receptor superfamily. One growth hormone molecule binds to one receptor and then recruits a second receptor to form a dimer through which signalling occurs. Growth hormone has a bell-shaped dose response curve due to the fact that high concentrations actually prevent dimerization of the receptors and prevent signalling.
