[edit] State of the Solorian Navy

While at the beginning of the series, the Solarian lighter ships were at state of the art levels (while their capital ships even then were a bit dated), just about every ship in the Solarian navy, including the lighter ones were made somewhat dated by Mantie (& later Peep) use of pods, and became obsolete against the other major navies by the Mantie "Ghostrider project" fully seen in Ashes of Victory and the Peep project seen in War of Honor. It is however worth noting that throughout the series the Solarian defense contractors are seen to be able to reverse enginer the Mantie impovements (and sell the designs to the Peeps.) And so, it appears to be only a montary question and not a technology one on why the Solies ships have gotten behind the times. Jon 14:16, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
