The Solomon Islands skink (Corucia zebrata) is a territorial species of skink originating from the Solomon Islands. It can grow up to 76 cm, making it the largest species of skink. Other common names include: giant skink, prehensile-tailed skink and monkey-tailed skink. It is sometimes kept as a pet lizard.
The Solomon Islands skink is nocturnal, arboreal, viviparous, and herbivorous. Its prehensile tail and sharp toenails allow it to maneuver from branch to branch with ease.
The Solomon Islands skink is threatened by deforestation and the pet industry.
