Solo Avital

Solo Avital is an autodidact visual effects artist, musician and award winning filmmaker. Avital's critically acclaimed and award winning documentary film ...More Than 1000 Words (2006) about Israel's leading war photographer Ziv Koren, was produces by one of Europe's leading film producer, Oliver Berben.
Solo has been a musician since age 11, at 15 he already directed, filmed and edited his first short documentary film, using his father’s Panasonic M7 VHS camera and editing cut to cut using 2 VHS recorders. The frustration of these primitive means challenged him to master every technology that he could lay his hands on.
In the early 90’s Solo was already an experienced technology wizard. After he won an award for his work as a computer 3D character animator, Solo was invited to Babelsberg Studios in Germany and eventually became the studios visual effects supervisor, also operating the Quantel and Discreet high-end digital compositing tools.
During 5 years in the studios he directed various high budget commercials, created visual effects for several blockbuster films such as “The Legend of 1900” by (Giuseppe Tornatore,) "Lost in Space" by Stephen Hopkins just to name a few. After 5 years in Babelsberg and 10 years of experiencing almost every aspect of filmmaking, he felt ready enough to start directing his own films. By 2006 he completed three feature documentary films of which he wrote, directed, filmed, edited and composed most of the music for.
