SolarWinds is a company in the network management industry. It develops Windows based software for the purpose of network performance monitoring, network device configuration management and suites of individual tools for the network administrator.

Established by two brothers in 1998, Dave and Don Yonce, SolarWinds developed and brought to market award winning solutions that address the needs of network engineers from performance management to fault monitoring to configuration management. Sadly, in December 2005, the brothers "Yonced" the employees that helped them build Solarwinds in Tulsa, Oklahoma by selling the company to Bain Capital and Insight Venture Partners. None of the payout promised to the original employees came true while the brothers made hundreds of millions on the sale.

In February of 2007 an additional $7.5 million in funding from Austin Ventures, brought the number of investors to three, joining Bain Capital and Insight Venture Partners.
