Solana Beach is a large railway station on Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner passenger train and on North County Transit District's COASTER commuter rail route route located in Solana Beach, California. The Pacific Surfliner is the second most travelled railway in the United States, with only the Northeast Corridor having higher ridership figures. Solana Beach was Amtrak's twenty-fourth busiest station in 2005, with 400,027 passengers annually using the station.[1] Solana Beach station is located in a "valley" of sorts, with a walkway to connect the two platforms, each serving one track. There is enough room between the two tracks to create a third track, which could be used as a bypass track.

Sixteen northbound trains stop at Solana Beach, the first at 6:48 AM and the last at 9:48 PM. On the other hand, only twelve southbound trains arrive at the station; the first at 8:12 AM and the last at 12:38 AM. The most likely reason for this is that there are only two more stations south of Solana Beach on the Pacific Surfliner.
