Image:Sol from Sagittarius.png

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This image was created from the incredible free program Celestia; its images are available under the GPL. This is a view of the sun (Sol) seen from the vicinity of α Sagittarii, some 170 light years from Earth. The magnitude limit is set to 8.60 to allow Sol (apparent magnitude 8.41 at this distance) to be visible. Major stars are labelled in light blue; constellation names are given in a lavendar color. A similar color connects star patterns in constellations. — Knowledge Seeker 08:24, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
