Sokolov (IPA: [ˈsokolof]; until 1948 in Czech: Falknov nad Ohří [ˈfalknof ˈnadoɦr̝i:], in German: Falkenau an der Eger) is a city in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 28,000 inhabitants.
