Sogod, Southern Leyte

Sogod is a 4th class municipality in the province of Southern Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 37,402 people in 7,266 households.
Parts of the municipality are prone to mudslides. Following the 2006 Southern Leyte mudslide, Governor Lerias placed the town of Sogod under a state of calamity.
