[edit] QuickBugs

I apologize if the deletion has tainted your view of Wikipedia and I hope you will stick around. However:

  1. The article was tagged for deletion 5 hours after your initial creation of the article (one edit), and was not deleted for a while after the article was tagged. The article was not improved during any of this time.
  2. The article is incredibly short and provides no actual information on the program. Even Stubs are required to have information (other than promotional info) as a requirement of WP:CSD.
  3. The article that was there used many non-POV and non-encyclopedic phrases like "Key attributes include extreme ease-of-use and flexibility", "Virtually everything in QuickBugs is configurable to the organization and specific user needs including data collection fields, workflow, views, queries, reports, security and access control", and "Highly targeted email messages"
  4. The article had no links to other articles whatsoever.

Sorry, but the article was not notable enough for an article in my opinion, was not detailed enough to warrant keeping the article even if it was worthy of an article, would have required clean-up had it been kept, and there was no indication of extreme effort on the article (a few PR sounding sentences with no wikilinks and some external links). Again, I hope you stick around as new Wikipedians are always welcome. Staxringold talkcontribs 02:03, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

  • That does seem odd, absolutely. If you feel your articles warrant another look, use the hangon template explained in the CSD template. I really apologize if this has turned you off Wikipedia, please stay around! Staxringold talkcontribs 06:15, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AfD of WinA&D

Hi. Thanks for the articles WindA&D and Co. Articles like these are always a bit delicate to keep from the advertising dislikers (Even if there isn't any marketing wording in the articles ;). I think the problem was triggered by creating a series of articles for all separate products of the same vendor. That triggered the well known "Aww. Advertising! Evil!" reaction of some wikipedians. I hope we can at least keep the WinA&D for now and merge the others into that.

BTW: Some minor wiki-diplomacy tips (makes you looking a bit more wiki-professional :-):

  1. Create a user page (then your username in your signature is no longer red. Blue sig names look much more wiki-professional than red ones. Red sigs are for total newbies. The user page may even be empty.)
  2. Sign your posts at the end of the post. Not at the beginning.

And welcome to Wikipedia! --Ligulem 21:47, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
