Is there an outline for what is desired for this page? -- Phantom Avenger

No, I don't think so. There's some kind of outline for the order in which to approach it, but otherwise someone just felt that editing the actual page directly was simply too fraught with peril. Personally, I think that the entire software engineering category (I can't figure out how to link to a category page) needs some kind of over-arching structure. But I'm just that way. I'd have thought that, like a failed software project, it would be time to start all over from scratch. ;-)
Personally, I think the cart has been put before the horse by putting the discipline before the artifact. Define software well enough, and the nature of the software development (engineering, whatever) process would almost define itself. (Ha ha, OK, maybe not.) But I'd still go so far as to say that the category should be de-emphasized in favour of the software category, which itself should maybe be re-constructed into articles about software and articles about specific software programs. I should probably be making wide-reaching arguments like this somewhere else... Brent 01:44, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
