Software vision mixer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A software vision mixer provides similar functionality to that of a hardware vision mixer. However, certain specific advantages and disadvantages can be outlined.
For instance, software vision mixers provide more flexibility for number of channels, connection types, computer-based content integration, transition effects, text & graphics overlay and media programming. On the other hand, the PC-based vision mixer is likely to be limited by the computer's performance (which, in turn, can be easily upgraded compared to that of a hardware vision mixer).
Also, software vision mixers, compared to an all-hardware solution, are likely to be cheaper.
