Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study

Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study (SASS) is a non-profit membership society with 400 members (1998) aiming to advance the study, teaching and research in America of the languages, literature, history, culture and society of the Scandinavian or Nordic countries and to foster closer relationships between people interested in the field of Scandinavian studies. The society was founded in 1911 and has its address at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. It publishes the quarterly journal Scandinavian Studies (ISSN 0036-5637) and the newsletter SASS News and Notes (ISSN 0891-7477) and arranges an annual conference.
