Social Forces (formerly Journal of Social Forces) is a social science academic journal published by University of North Carolina Press. It concentrates on sociology but also addresses related problems withing the fields of social psychology, anthropology, political science, history, and economics. Each issue includes 20-25 peer-reviewed articles and a section of book reviews.

Founded by Howard W. Odum in 1922 as Journal of Social Forces, from 1925 (volume 4) it is published as Social Forces.
