SoccerProject was released in 2004 as a free online soccer management game, with thousands of active managers from over 200 countries playing in 19 different languages. A player becomes the manager of a soccer club and is responsible for everything within the club (roster, staff, stadium, etc.). League games are played every weekday, except for Wednesdays when cup games are played.

The game is web-based, but real-life meetings are organized by the community to give managers a chance to get to know each other. Apart from the website there are also desktop tools available to analyze the player's team offline, one of these is the SoccerProject Management Tool.

During games however, the managers will have to log out of the game. The forums are still acessible to the manages during games. There are no interactive games yet for SoccerProject.
