So Alone is a 1978 album by Johnny Thunders, former guitarist for the New York Dolls.

After recording one album, L.A.M.F., with his backing band the Heartbreakers, Thunders dropped most of them (Heartbreakers guitarist Walter Lure and bassist Billy Rath remained) and proceeded to release his first true solo album, So Alone. The album featured several already well-known musicians, including Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders and Steve Marriott of the Small Faces.

Interestingly, Paul Cook and Steve Jones of the essentially disbanded Sex Pistols were also featured, despite the appearance of the track "London Boys" on the album (a clear attack on the Sex Pistols and British punk, and response to the band's "New York").

So Alone is generally considered to be Thunders' masterpiece. Some critics feel the quality of his work dropped after the release of the album.
