[edit] Products
The products produced by Snyder's can be broadly divided into pretzels and the EatSmart snack line. Pretzel products include traditional hard pretzels, pretzel sticks, and some newer products such as flavored pieces and pretzel sandwiches. Organic and low-carb pretzels are also offered. EatSmart products are all-natural products, and include veggie crisps, baked potato chips, fries, dips and cheese puffs. In many markets, Snyder's of Hanover also sells tortilla chips, including a Multi-Grain Chip, and distributes other partner brands as well.
The company is not affiliated with Snyder of Berlin.
[edit] Corporate history
Snyder's can trace its roots back to two different companies specializing in pretzels. The first was founded in 1909 by Harry V. Warehime as the Hanover Pretzel Company. The other was founded by Helen and William Snyder in 1923 as pretzel bakery. In 1963, Hanover purchased Snyder's distribution company. After entering multiple other snack markets during the 1960s and 1970s, the company eventually settled on focusing on pretzels and potato chips. In 1981, Snyder's became an independent company of what is now the Hanover Foods Corporation.[1]
