[edit] Pureblood
One of Livingston's long-term works is called Pureblood: the Story of Draco Malfoy [1]. It is a retelling of the popular Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, told through the eyes of a lesser antagonist, Draco Malfoy. Similarly to the original series, Pureblood has seven books planned, one for each of Draco's years at Hogwarts.
The main plot twist is that the "true" Draco Malfoy is very much unlike the character portrayed in the original books, but was forced to take on the personality laid out by Rowling in order to protect Harry, the chief protagonist.
The story is currently on hiatus as she finishes a new, two-part series for a separate fandom, called The Warehouse Murder and Heist (see below).
[edit] The Warehouse Murder & Heist
Written as a crossover between CSI: Miami and Crossing Jordan, this is a two-book slash fiction series, the chief pairing being Horatio Caine and Nigel Townsend.
[edit] The Warehouse Murder
Set in late 2006, this story recounts Nigel's trip down from his home in Boston to Miami for a medical conference. However, he investigates into an abandoned warehouse wherein he sees blood on the window, and becomes the suspect of the murder and assault of the two people found there.
The victims, named Francis Lovett and his wife, Eleanor Lovett, turn out to be involved in plots much more insidious than is revealed early on. Mr. Lovett is in fact a "division leader" of a child prostitution ring who managed to evade the law. His superior, simply called Mr. Carter, turns out to be the man who molested Nigel when he was nine years old. [2]
[edit] Heist
As of now, the piece has not been started, and only parts of the plotline have been revealed [3].
Set approximately three years after the end of its prequel, Horatio and Nigel are now in a steady relationship. When a travelling diamond show comes down to Miami, with the piece du resistance being the famed Hope Diamond, a sinister and deadly operation to steal it and thousands of dollars worth in other diamonds. With twenty people killed in the process, Horatio and his team are set on the case, but the clues lead to someone unexpected.
[edit] Original Work
Livingston recently finished an original story called Indigo Child and is currently working on another called The Skeletons in Grey Manor.
[edit] Indigo Child
Indigo Child follows the story of an Oxford professor named James Cooper, a doctor of cryptography. At the beginning of the tale, he is touring a house that he is considering to buy in Wiltshire, using the money earned from his latest novel. However, things get put on hold when he finds a small boy locked in the cellar.
Having been locked down there for an incredible eight years, the boy apparently subsisted on rats and a broken water pipe. After he is in the hospital, James discovers that his name is Ashling "Ash" St. Clair and that his own father put him down there.
At a signing, James meets two figures that become key characters, named Dolly Madison and her mother, Barbara Madison. The two of them run a "safe house" for Indigo Children, which is housing about twenty, and Barbara (or Ms. Madison, as she prefers to be called) insists on speaking to Ash.
Ash's past quickly catches up with him and James discovers that lives may hang in the balance.
[edit] The Skeletons in Grey Manor
Currently a work-in-progress, The Skeletons in Grey Manor is set from October 21, 2006 to February 4, 2007 in Baltimore, Maryland. The three chief characters are Detectives Marcel Carver and Alice Renault, and Medical Examiner November Raine.
[edit] Marcel Carver
A hardened city kid from New York City, Marcel lost his father when he was very young to murder, which was what incited him to become a homicide detective. He is a good detective with a penchant for sarcasm and an addiction to coffee.
[edit] Alice Renault
Alice hails from a thoroughly French background, despite the fact that she was born and raised in the United States. Her family holds very strong to her French roots, so she still practices its customs and speaks the language. With borderline obsessive-compulsive disorder, Alice hound dogs all her cases relentlessly, usually forgetting to eat, sleep and shower in the process.
[edit] November Raine
November was born and raised in London, England. His father died of pancreatic cancer when he was five, leaving him, his mother and his sister in debt. He grew up in near poverty, and got a full scholarship to Oxford medical right out of school. He came to America to write his thesis in mortuary science, but fell in love with Baltimore and never left.
[edit] Plot Outline
The story begins outside of Baltimore, in a large manor (Grey Manor). The caretaker of the manor had previously arranged for it to be demolished the following day, but is forced to postpone the demolition when she discovers a skeleton at the base of the steps.
Marcel and Alice are put on the case, and November is assigned to examine the body. They find that the skeleton is over 150 years old, a black male with a hunchback. However, he is only the first in the next four cases wherein skeletons that had not previously been there start showing up in various places around the house.
November researches into the manor's history and discovers that exactly 150 years ago there had been a string of five murder cases, wherein the bodies were found in the exact same locations as the ones they'd found. It leads them into a trip to the past, and they are soon on the trail of the man who murdered them, who, incredibly, is still alive and still killing.
[edit] Lesser Characters
Lisa Remington is a young cryptographer who, on Marcel's request, helps them translate a series of notebooks written in a cryptic code.
Ted Jamison is a lieutnenant crime scene investigator who works closely with Marcel and Alice through the course of the skeleton discoveries.
Dora Glass is a police commissioner for Baltimore PD. She is a somewhat misandric figure with a grudge against Marcel and November for being male.
Marie Collins is a self-proclaimed psychic and old friend of November who aids them in the discovery of a secret passageway in Grey Manor.
Peter Whittaker (AKA "Pere Lafevre") is a Presbytarian priest of the church not far from Grey Manor. He vanished shortly after the last of the murders and never returned.
Isaac Rodham was the man accused of the murders. He was executed for the crimes despite the lack of conclusive evidence against him.
