I've seen worse. A lot worse. These remarks from natural-health were mostly most harmless and not enough for a ban. BL 21:23, Jan 18, 2004 (UTC)

Hi. The fact that you have seen worse personal attacks really doesn't have any affect on the MNH situation. If you feel that the personal attacks that you have seen are against the wikipedia policy of no personal attacks, then you should raise the issue as I have done. I will also quote from that policy page: "No personal attacks on the Wikipedia, period." and "Unlike the other rules, which are community conventions enforced only by our mutual agreement, this one may also be implemented in extreme cases as policy, i.e. grounds for banning that go beyond our traditional "sheer vandalism" threshold.". If you think that these personal attacks are not reason enough for a ban, then I'd be interested in your opinion why, but note that I don't feel that it is a valid argument that there have been worse. --snoyes 21:36, 18 Jan 2004 (UTC)

I think Jimbo should talk to MNH. This is the usual next step in the process; it's also generally the next-to-last step. --208.246.35.240 14:23, 20 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Re: Snoyes

Yes, the "rule" is "no personal attacks on the Wikipedia, period". But that isn't the de facto rule since behaviour worse than MNH:s has not been punished in the past. Therefore I think it would be wrong to single MNH out because he is only one of a wide array of troublesome users that contribute to the Wikipedia. The quotes you have listed doesn't mean much by themselves without any context. Instead, what I would like to know if I was Jimbo (who is the person who dedides about bans) is if it is possible to work with this user. If it is, is it possible to do in a way that doesn't hurt the community to much?

IMHO, banning a user is a failure for Wikipedia especially in this case, since MNH obviously is not vandalizing. So I think other alternatives should be tried first. I don't know which they are, but i msg you if I can come up with any. Since banning MNH:s username and/or IP probably will not stop him from coming back, if he wants to. BL 08:29, Jan 21, 2004 (UTC)
