[edit] Summary

Favicon of Snopes.com. Sent an email asking permission:

Comment: Dear David and Barbara Mikkelson, I formally request permission to use the "favorites icon" for the www.snopes.com website and www.msgboard.snopes.com website for a Userbox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Userboxes) on Wikipedia.

Userboxes are small templates on Wikipedia used on User Pages (the personal page of a user) to indicate beliefs or other facets of the user's life.

I would like to create a "snopester" Userbox for use by Wikipedia users who are also members of the Urban Legends Reference Pages messageboards.

I would like to use the "favorites icon" with the Userbox, as Userboxes can have pictures.

My User Page is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:B.D.Will .

Examples of Userboxes may be found at my User Page.

Please consider my request.

Received response:

Bill:

If you're referring to the .ICO file of a light bulb, feel free. It isn't unique to our site -- it's the standard icon packaged with the UBB message board software.
