SNCF 241P Class

The SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Français) 241P Class is a mountain type 4-8-2 steam locomotive.

Tirty- five engines were built in 1948-1952, first for service on the Paris- Lyons-Marseilles line then in the procees of beeing electified, to haul the heaviest express trains. They were withdrawn in 1969 after service on most of the SNCF main lines.82.124.150.178 19:37, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Some features: 4 cylinders compound, driving wheels 2 m diameter, grate area 5,05 m2, steam pressure 19,72 atmospheres, tractive effort 20266 kg, coal capacity 12 tons, water capacity 34050 liters, length 27,1 m, weight in working order: Locomotive : 129,3 t, Tender : 82,7 t .
