[edit] The surveys of boring classics The Pilgrim's Progress

Hi, SnappingTurtle, could you possibly make the full text available for the first survey. As it is one has to be a member of HighBeam to link on to that first survey. We might keep the second link, but the first link is a problem.--Drboisclair 19:56, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

I see your point. I haven't read the full article. The summary provided enough information support the statement about the surveys. However, your're right, it does leave a rather unsatisfying feeling to only see the summary. I've clarified what the link gives you. SnappingTurtle 20:01, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Knights of prosperity.tvseries.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Knights of prosperity.tvseries.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:07, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deleting your own image

I was looking through WP:IFD and noticed that you had asked for Image:Letsrob.tvseries.jpg, an image that you had uploaded, to be deleted. FYI, if you create any kind of page, article, image, etc, and believe it is no longer useful, you can tag it with {{db-author}} to request that it be deleted. If you are the only author, it does not have to sit through the deletion process. BigDT 18:11, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

  • So many tags to keep track of. Thanks! SnappingTurtle 18:31, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
    • I know the feeling ... it's a bit overwelming at first ;). There is a list at WP:CSD of all of the reasons for a "speedy delete" and of all of the tags you can use to request one. I still sometimes have to reference the list to see what tag to use. BigDT 18:35, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
      • I'll be sure to consult that page next time.  :-) SnappingTurtle 18:36, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image uploads

Your images uploads are slighly problematic, first all fair use images must have source information included on the image description page. Second many of the things you are tagging as logos clearly aren't logos, please try to tag images correctly.--Peta 06:21, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Aeroscraft.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Aeroscraft.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (This was tagged by another user, who forgot to alert you on your talk page.) [edit] The Ultimate Sitcom

Hi there! I originally nominated this article for deletion in March 2006. The result was no consensus. Its over 3 months passed now and I think its time to renominate it. Since you commented previously on the article's talk page that you would like to see this article deleted [1], I hope you will support the new nomination. Thanks! Bwithh 00:12, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

This is true! I wish the network hadn't reverted the program's title back to the original. =( Never Mystic (tc) 01:56, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wayne Newton case

Hey - I just have to get back to the article to finish it. I realize the discontinuity. --DavidShankBone 20:16, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Cool. Good work! SnappingTurtle 20:25, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks :) My problem is that I took too many articles I was working on live without making a sandbox, then needed a break. It was a newbie problem, which I won't repeat. Thanks for the compliment. A more finished article that the Newton case will resemble is History and background of New York Times Co. v. United States, although I don't want it to compete with the main article, New York Times Co. v. United States and I haven't had much direction on how to handle it from the WP:SCOTUS page. If you have any ideas, would be glad to hear them. Dave --DavidShankBone 20:28, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Bettytheugly.tvseries.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Bettytheugly.tvseries.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below).

[edit] Image:The Nine - Brother's Keeper.jpg

Hmm.. where did you cap Image:The Nine - Brother's Keeper.jpg from as it says you capped it but it does not have an ABC watermark.. ? thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 13:33, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

I got it from ABC's online episodes. Apparently the online episodes don't have the watermark. SnappingTurtle 13:39, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Ahh.. I see :) thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 13:42, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Standoff.tvseries.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Standoff.tvseries.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Chowbok 22:19, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

What do I do if I'm OK with the image being deleted in seven days? It was replaced by another image in the article about Standoff. I guess I didn't properly label the image, but at this point I'd rather just let it go away. SnappingTurtle 23:08, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Userfriendly.20030128.gif

Thank you for uploading Image:Userfriendly.20030128.gif. However, Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Userfriendly.20030128.gif

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Userfriendly.20030128.gif. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 19:29, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Dirt tvseries.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use.
