Snapple Real Facts

Underneith the caps of Snapple drinks are small lines of facts. There are 200 known facts which are circulated. The fast facts are likely an advertizing strategy to encourage collectors to buy Snapple products, and as an extra benefit to buying the drinks. Its facts have become so popular a board game was made based on them.[1]

Several of the facts on Snapple caps are incorrect or out of date, including:
- #36 "A duck's quack doesn't echo" Proven false by Snopes.[2]
- #68 "The longest one syllable word is 'screeched'" The longest one syllable word is squirreled.
- #113 "The fastest recorded speed of a racehorse was over 43 mph" The fastest recorded speed of a racehorse is 55 miles per hour.[3]
- #114 "The oldest known animal was a tortoise, which lived to be 152 years old" Currently the oldest living animal lived to be 175 years old.[4]
