Snaith

Snaith is a town in the East Riding of Yorkshire local government area (formerly Humberside). It is situated approximately 6 miles west of Goole on the A1041 road at its junction with the A645 road. It lies a mile to the north of the M62 motorway and just south of the River Aire.

It is served by a railway station on the Pontefract Line from Leeds to Goole.

The town of Snaith, East Cowick and West Cowick form the civil parish of Snaith and Cowick.

Snaith has around 5000 inhabitants. It is the focal point of the local rural area and home to the local schools (primary and secondary), both with very good reputations. Local amenities include: Co-op, paper shop, petrol station, sandwich shop, post office, 5 pubs, chemist, doctors surgery, off licence, amongst other things.
